Informational Session – 2017 Master Naturalist Basic Training Course

The Roanoke Valley chapter of Virginia Master Naturalists will be conducting the basic training course for those interested in becoming Master Naturalists from February 22-May 17, 2017.

Classes are held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Salem Public Library. The course also includes four weekend field trips.

We are holding an information session for the general public on Wednesday, January 25, at 7:00 pm at the Salem Library.

You do not have to attend the information session to attend the course, but you must submit an application.  A check for $100.00 should be submitted with your application, which constitutes lifetime membership dues for the chapter.  Your check will not be cashed until you are accepted to the program and classes begin, but your application will not be considered unless the dues payment is included.  As an alternative, you can pay the $100 fee through PayPal. The link for using PayPal is shown on the final page of the application.

The cutoff date for taking applications is February 15, 2017.  We have a number of individuals who have expressed interest in the program, and the class is limited to 25 participants. Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.

The class schedule is included below. In addition, the application form is available on the chapter’s website (www.rvmasternaturalists.org). The completed application and a check or proof of PayPal payment should be sent to me at the following address:
